Pop-up Restaurants Continue to Please

There is more to pop-up restaurants than just fat-free cookies and foam. A study released by Eventbrite dubbed as “The Rise of Pop –Up Dining Events and the Experimental Diner”, says there is an increase in the number of people visiting pop – up restaurants more than ever before.

The primary reason for this trend is the tendency of pop –up restaurants to offer the diners a chance to experiment with something new, thereby making them unique. You can be served in the dark or eat food that is made of scraps. This was the case in Dan Barber’s wasteD event that was held in a New York’s Blue Hill restaurant last month.

So trendy are pop-up restaurants that they may even take place in a super club or an undisclosed location, as long as the guests get to savor their favorite dishes. Each time there is a pop-up event, a specific type of cuisine is always on display. They are an incredible way for a diner to find that experience they would rarely have in a typical dining restaurant. The beauty of it is that they still have to enjoy, their favorite and trending foods in their preferred settings.

A quick search on the internet reveals that the pop restaurant culture was virtually nonexistent before 2009. However, the trend rose sharply on 2014 and has been on an upward shift since then. This was after a slight decline in mid-2014. According to a study carried out by Eventbrite, more than 40,000 pop restaurant events took place in 2014 alone. This marked an 82% increase from 2015. While these are not scientific figure, one this is without a doubt, that the culture of pop restaurants is here to stay, at least for now.

Pop-up restaurants are popular all over the country from Miami to Texas to New York to Idaho to Southeastern Wisconsin. Eventbrite, says that the pop-up platform is one of the fastest growing trends in the industry. In some of the events, guests are allowed to come with their own recipes and given a chance to prepare them to their own liking. The drinks are also made per the guest’s request and served in their most preferred way as well. If you haven’t been to a pop-up restaurant, you are certainly missing out a lot and it is about time you attend one of the events happening near you.
