Abergavenny Food Festival 2012

Abergavenny Food Festival 2012

With more than 200 food stalls spread across the festival site the Abergavenny Food Festival is a pretty big deal in the food world. Each year the festival attracts thousands of people who flock to Wales in search of incredible cuisine and big name chefs who are on hand to advise and inspire during a range of talks. This year’s event organizers have somehow managed to book Kate Humble, Claudia Roden and Yotam Ottolenghi as well hundreds of enthusiastic top quality food vendors. Launched by Martin Orbach and Chris Wardle back in 1999 the Abergavenny Food Festival has continued to grow in popularity over the years and boost gastro-tourism in the area. Paying particular attention to produce grown in the Monmouthshire vicinity, the food on offer is sourced from local farmers. The only thing set to spoil this year’s event is, as ever, the weather – which last year saw ticket sales drop dramatically as people were put off by extreme rainfall. The festival will take place this coming weekend and will feature a packed schedule of foodie events. Out advice is to brave whatever whether Wales throws at you and get down there for kick off.
